About Tamanna Monem

I arrived in Australia with qualifications, ambition and a determination to build both a family and a career, to call Australia home.

Like many migrant women, I knocked on countless doors. Some opened. Many did not. There were moments of uncertainty, setbacks and self-doubt. I was not always confident, but I was always willing to keep going.

Every conversation, every challenge and every opportunity taught me something, shaping more than three decades of my career across Australia’s export, innovation and investment ecosystem.

From investment attraction, industry development and export across local and state government, to leading strategic partnerships and nationally significant initiatives in Australia’s medical research sector, my career has been built through persistence, trusted relationships and the generosity of people who chose to share their experience, guidance and networks.

WEII Community

Those leaders became my Circle of Influence.

They believed in my capability, they challenged me, encouraged me and opened doors that I may never have found on my own. Their generosity shaped not only my career, but my belief that talented women should never be limited by a lack of access to the people, networks and insights that help careers grow.

Over the years, I met many women whose stories reminded me of my own, women who arrived with qualifications, experience and determination, yet found themselves outside the conversations and networks where opportunities were created.

Their capability was never the barrier. Access was.

What WEII Is About

WEII is my way of giving back.

It brings together skilled women from diverse backgrounds with resilient, progressive leaders who are willing to share what they have learned, open pathways and create opportunities for others. It is built on the belief that when experience is shared generously, it becomes insight; when insight is shared openly, it creates opportunity.

My hope is that through WEII, more women will grow, be seen and build the connections that enable them to contribute their talents to Australia’s future.

Because no woman should have to navigate her journey alone.
